With your library card, check out an Explorer Pass.
Loan rules for Explorer Passes
- 5-day checkout, no renewals, no grace period.
- $10/day overdue fee.
- $50 replacement fee.
- Pick up at Hales Corners Library only. Must return to the Hales Corners Library checkout desk.
Hales Corners Library Explorer passes can be placed on hold. However, we have limited the pick-up time to 1-day from when it becomes available.

Explorer backpacks
When you use an Explorer Pass, be sure to grab one of our Explorer Backpacks for additional fun! Each backpack includes:

- Children’s binoculars
- Magnifying glass
- Clipboard with scavenger hunt and activity sheet (completed scavenger hunt sheets can be turned in for a prize)
- Limit of 2 backpacks per family.
